Bridge—Practice Play of the Hand

This is a four week course designed to follow Audrey Grant’s Beginning Bridge class. We will play practice hands which reinforce the concepts already learned. This class is for any beginners who would like to brush up on their bidding and play skills. We play at least 8 hands per night, guided by a well designed booklet which includes the hands, analysis of the play and bidding and important tips. Book fee of $8 included in class fee.

Intro to Drama Therapy—

Drama therapy uses acting, improvisation, theatre games and psychodrama as tools for personal growth and change. It is playful yet sparks insight. It promotes spontaneity, creativity and expressiveness. This workshop introduces participants to this powerful means for changing self-defeating patterns and practicing new roles and constructive behaviors. No previous theater experience is necessary. Shy people are welcome. Armand Volkas, MFT, RDT/BCT, Director of The Living Arts Counseling Center, is a psychotherapist and drama therapist in private practice in Oakland. He is Associate Professor in the Counseling Psychology Program at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Franciso and has worked as a drama therapist with a variety of themes and with diverse populations since 1975.

For all levels of writers, it will include in-class exercises, handouts, and resources. Elaine Beale has taught creative writing to adults and youth. She has a degree in Education from the University of London (UK), and is a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing candidate at the University of British Columbia.
