Join our CAHSEE test prep classes if you have not passed the English portion of this test that is required in California in order to earn a high school diploma. We will review grammar, writing, and reading. This class will include a component of test-taking strategies. These classes are designed for adults. You must be at least 17 years of age to sign up for this class. Please anticipate that there will be homework associated with each class session.

Piedmont Adult School offers a High School Diploma Program through independent study for all adults
(17 or older) who are interested in earning their high school diploma. If you are interested in earning credits toward your high school diploma or if you are at least 17, in high school, and deficient in your credits toward graduation, this program may be right for you. Independent Study is a program where students meet with a teacher once a week and complete classwork independently. To be enrolled in this program, please do one of the following:

    1. If you are currently not in high school and 18 years old or over, fax your transcript(s) to the attention of Terra Salazar at 510-595-8173.

    2. If you are in high school and at least 17
    years old, fax your transcript and a signed approval letter from your counselor to the attention of Suzi Pinarcik at 510-595-8173.
Please fax these documents to the Piedmont Adult School office by 6/20/08. Submission of documents does not assure placement. Qualified students will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once your paperwork has been reviewed, you will be contacted by phone regarding your status.

Graduation Requirements:
English – 40 credits
Mathematics – 20 credits
Physical Science – 10 credits
Life Science – 10 credits
World History – 10 credits
U.S. History – 10 credits
Economics – 5 credits
Government/Civics – 5 credits
Breadth (fine art/languages) – 20 credits
